Piñuelas Beach is located in the Province of Puntarenas, specifically in the Canton of Osa, in the southern part of our country. It is a tranquil beach, ideal for those seeking a getaway from their daily routine, a direct escape to paradise where they can freely enjoy themselves and relax without interruption. Visitors can also enjoy a setting with lush flora and fauna.
It covers about 1,300 meters in length, is small, with grayish sands, it is a bay with little wave action, perfect for bathers who make their visit a delight, since in addition to the sun and the sand, they can enjoy fishing, swimming and diving in these waters.
The latter is one of the most popular water activities due to the impressive coral reef here, said to be the largest on the Pacific coast of Central America.
Visitors can also go horseback riding, climbing, or experience the adventure of camping, as this beach has designated areas for doing so.
Among its attractions is Whale Island, which is clearly visible from the beach. It’s also possible to spot three rocks known as «Three Sisters.» Depending on the time of year or the season, whale watching may be possible.
Piñuela Beach is just steps from Marino Ballena National Park, which encompasses 110 hectares of land and 5,375 hectares of sea. The park is famous as one of the most visited destinations for humpback whale watching, as these whales are attracted by the warm waters. They migrate through Costa Rican waters.
The dates when tourists can enjoy this spectacle are from mid-July to October and again in December and March.
