The area where Playa Ventanas, or Playa Tortuga as the locals call it, is located is in Ojochal de Osa, a town surrounded by lush vegetation and very close to the beach. It encompasses both beautiful and relaxing settings. The beach is very popular with both locals and tourists due to its beauty and its fascinating caves.
This area is known for its wonderful sunsets, seas with perfect waves for surfing, as well as birdwatching and the observation of species such as howler monkeys, macaws, parakeets, crabs and mollusks typical of the marine area.
Playa Ventanas is located approximately 30 km by car from the Dominical area in the south of our country, and the best part is that it is close to other attractions such as neighboring beaches, Marino Ballena National Park, kayaking and horseback riding, among other places that make up the rich and diverse Osa Peninsula.
There are several ways to get to this place, from driving your own car along the Inter-American Highway South, which passes through San Isidro de El General, or directly from San José via the Costanera, to using public transportation such as buses, which run frequently. Even if you’re coming from San José, you can use the airstrips located in the surrounding areas.
